Hello! If you are reading this, you are lucky — because I am going to tell you about one of the most fun ways to play Star Wars: Unlimited with friends. You must try the Twin Suns format: the official multiplayer variant of the game. And if you have already played it, then it's time to play it even more!

My name is Jayson, and I enjoy creating content about Star Wars: Unlimited with a few good friends on our fan site. Over the years, I've played many Fantasy Flight card games and board games, but this game is truly special. What makes it even more enjoyable is how accessible and entertaining it is — even for friends who have never played a TCG before.

The Twin Suns format highlights exactly what makes the game so great: it’s exciting, elegant, and above all, fun to play together. It feels like Star Wars: Unlimited — but even more enjoyable.

It's not just about winning or becoming better players. Of course, we all want to win and improve our skills, but the magic of Star Wars: Unlimited lies mainly in sitting around the table together, forgetting the real world for a moment, having fun, and sharing your love for Star Wars. That feeling — that rare, almost childlike joy — is precisely what makes Twin Suns so special.

Expect the Unexpected

Twin Suns can get quite crazy and chaotic — and that’s what makes it great!

With multiple players at the table, exciting game moments become even bigger. Cards that are impressive in one-on-one play can have enormous effects in Twin Suns. Think of cards that can eliminate three units in a normal match — in multiplayer, they can topple entire stacks of cards at once.

I remember one evening when a friend drew exactly the card that allowed him to play two strong leaders while the rest of us had very few resources. This led to a completely chaotic board state that we all laughed hard about — because even with that luck, he was still the first one eliminated!

These moments are not exceptions; they happen often. The interactions between players multiply and create unexpected twists, but never in a way that makes the game random or meaningless. In Twin Suns, winning usually comes down to smart play, not just simple luck.

Learn to Play Against Your Opponents

Twin Suns differs in a few key ways from standard one-on-one matches:

  • It is a multiplayer format: almost every attack and game choice must be aimed at a specific opponent.

  • The match ends when one player is eliminated, and the player with the most HP on their base wins. This makes self-preservation crucial.

  • There are additional tokens: in addition to Initiative, there are now Plan (for hand filtering) and Blast (which deals damage to all other bases).

  • Each Twin Suns deck contains two leaders, providing more aspects and combination possibilities when building decks.

These adjustments increase your power... but also your visibility as a target. If the other players decide that your board is too threatening, they may band together against you. Surviving often means not only playing well but also communicating and negotiating effectively with others.

Building Decks: Freedom with Focus

Twin Suns decks may seem intimidating at first: you have at least 80 cards and can only use one copy of each card. However, this offers a lot of creative possibilities if you follow a few basic principles:

  • Prioritize units — they are your main resources for influencing the board and strengthening your negotiating position.

  • Often opt for cheaper cards — multiplayer games usually don't last long enough for many expensive high-impact cards.

  • Be cautious with very specific combos — since you only have one copy of each card, complex synergies are harder to achieve.

  • Strengthen your base — cards that prevent base attacks or restore health are almost always valuable.

With these guidelines, you can incorporate almost any theme or favorite character into your deck while still remaining competitive. Twin Suns is a fantastic playground for creative deck building!

Summary

Twin Suns is a fantastic way to play Star Wars: Unlimited. It combines strategic depth, social interaction, and humorous, unexpected moments at the table. If you've never tried multiplayer — go for it. It might just be the most fun game you play this week.
